I have been working with clay for three decades of my life. Clay is my passion. It is wonderful to feel this same intensity yet with more focus than I have had in the past.
I love the wheel and am currently working in porcelain and stoneware. I am influenced by the Japanese tradition of pottery and the historical ceramics of the African and Minoan cultures. Form, line, surface and texture are qualities I incorporate in my work.. I fire in a reduction atmosphere which enhances the qualities I am seeking.
My tableware pieces are generous and curvaceous. These plates, soup bowls, serving platters and beverage containers are part of enhancing the experience of sharing a meal together.
I am pursuing a degree in ceramics at UMass Dartmouth. The program has rekindles my passion for clay-my one thing.
